Having gone through many phases of depression, having cats helps me emotionally. Watching their antics is very entertaining. I see them as more than pets. They are my children. My happiness for when my heart feels heavier. The reason I force myself out of bed everyday.

I had Mokcik when I knew nothing about cats other than the fact that i like them. We bought cheap kibbles from supermarkets, and thought, as long as his stomach was full and happy, it would be enough. We didn’t know that his long term poor diet would lead to his kidney failing, and within a week of diagnosis, he left us forever.
I also did not know that losing a cat feels like losing a family member. I mourned his loss for months, and when I was ready to have a new pet, I promised myself to never repeat the same mistake.

This is Lola. The trauma of losing a family pet years before was enough of a lesson, so we adopted her after extensive research on cat’s care and wellbeing. She is a high maintenance gorgeous sassy girl who hates every cat she encounters and needs a lot of space just for her alone. Do I still love her with all my heart? YES.
But Lola got a problem. She had dingleberries! For her, it is when her poop is dry and stuck to her butt. I would open her room and saw poop stains, the result of her dragging her rear across the floor to successfully unstuck the poop from herself.
At first I thought it was normal and shrugged it off, simply cleaned it and moved on with life. But after moving, when both Amber and her stayed in my room, I noticed that she would often have toilet issues, while Amber doesn’t, despite having the same diet. I realized she had constipation. So that was the start of my venture with cat food.

How the wet food came about
When going through readily available cat food, finding a high protein one is easy. But finding an affordable cat food with close to 10% fiber was proven impossible. So, since I had been cooking their food in the first place, I decided to take things into my own hands and concoct a high protein, high fiber diet that consists of chicken, egg, and carrot. I cooked and test fed her, observing her toilet behavior after a couple days. She finally was able to poop smoothly.
But knowing the high amount of fiber Lola needs, and the high beta-carotene in carrots, I was worried about how it would affect her long term. So I thought about how to reduce the beta-carotene she consumes, while still maintaining the high fiber in her diet, and we came up with Broccoli!
Broccoli is not only high in fiber, but has many other nutrients which are beneficial for kitties’ digestive system!
Why we decide to sell our cat food
After observing Lola and feel the relief of how our homecooked food tremendously improves her life, I began wondering about other cats that may be having toilet problems that comes from the same issue, and cat owners who are affected by that, especially working professionals who just want to plop on the couch, and definitely not cleaning poop stain on the floor everyday after coming home from long hours of work! And for the working owners who, although may have the solution of cooking their own specialized food for their cat(s), would love to instead spend that time to do other things, while still having a healthy, high fiber diet for their cats.
So we decided to sell our cat food in the hope it would make cat parents’ life easier by simply cutting open a pouch, put in the feeding bowls, and get on with your day. That won’t even take 5 minutes!
